Cash on Delivery (COD) Terms & Conditions
Applicable Only for Orders Within India
At Kafftan, we offer Cash on Delivery (COD) as a convenience to our customers across eligible serviceable locations in India. By placing a COD order, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. COD Availability
Cash on Delivery (COD) is available only for selected pin codes within India.
COD availability may vary based on:
- Delivery location
- Order value
- Product category
- Courier partner serviceability
- Customer order history
Kafftan reserves the right to disable COD for any order without prior notice.
2. No COD for International Orders
Cash on Delivery (COD) is not available for international orders.
All international orders must be paid in full at the time of purchase through the payment methods available during checkout.
3. Order Acceptance Responsibility
Customers selecting COD are expected to accept and pay for the order when it is delivered.
By placing a COD order, you confirm your genuine intent to purchase the products ordered.
Failure to accept delivery without a valid reason may result in:
- Restriction of future COD orders
- Requirement of prepaid orders only
- Cancellation of pending orders
- Temporary or permanent suspension of customer account privileges
4. COD Confirmation Process
To prevent fraudulent and fake orders, Kafftan may contact customers via:
- Phone call
- SMS
to verify COD orders before processing.
Orders that remain unverified may be cancelled at our discretion.
5. Token Payment Requirement
For certain orders, Kafftan may require a non-refundable or adjustable token payment before dispatch.
This may apply to:
- High-value orders
- Multiple-item orders
- Bulk purchases
- Customers with prior order refusals
- Orders flagged by fraud-prevention systems
The token amount, if required, will be communicated before order processing.
6. Adjustment of Token Payment
Where applicable:
- The token amount paid in advance will be adjusted against the final order value.
- The remaining balance will be collected upon delivery.
Example:
Order Value: ₹4,999
Token Paid: ₹500
Balance Payable on Delivery: ₹4,499
7. Refund of Token Payment
Eligible Refunds
The token amount will be refunded if:
- Kafftan cancels the order.
- The ordered product becomes unavailable before shipment.
- The order is cancelled by the customer before dispatch and approved by Kafftan.
Non-Refundable Situations
The token amount will not be refunded if:
- The order has already been dispatched.
- The customer refuses delivery.
- Delivery attempts fail due to customer unavailability.
- Incorrect shipping information is provided.
- The parcel is returned because the customer failed to respond to the courier partner.
8. Multiple Delivery Attempts
Courier partners may attempt delivery more than once depending on their policies.
Customers are expected to:
- Answer courier calls.
- Be available at the delivery address.
- Coordinate with the courier partner when necessary.
Repeated failed delivery attempts due to customer unavailability may result in order cancellation.
9. Refusal of COD Orders
Kafftan reserves the right to decline or cancel COD orders in situations including, but not limited to:
- Excessive return history
- Previous COD refusals
- Suspicious ordering patterns
- Fraud prevention concerns
- Non-compliance with token payment requirements
- High-risk delivery locations
In such cases, customers may still place prepaid orders.
10. Fraud Prevention & Abuse of COD Facility
The COD facility is provided for customer convenience and must not be misused.
The following actions may be considered misuse:
- Placing orders without intent to purchase.
- Repeated refusal of COD deliveries.
- Providing incorrect contact details.
- Providing false delivery information.
- Repeated cancellations after dispatch.
Kafftan reserves the right to permanently restrict COD access for customers who misuse the service.
11. Delivery Charges
Kafftan reserves the right to charge an additional COD handling fee on certain orders, promotional periods, or serviceable locations. Any applicable fee will be clearly displayed during checkout.
12. Right to Modify COD Terms
Kafftan reserves the right to modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue the COD service at any time without prior notice.
Continued use of the COD facility constitutes acceptance of the latest COD Terms & Conditions.
